Information for Participants

ASCEND is a clinical trial. It aims to determine whether aspirin and/or omega-3 fatty acids (fish oils) reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes in people with diabetes who do not already have any existing problems with their heart or blood circulation. It will help establish whether the benefits of taking these treatments outweigh any potential risks.

This website is designed to provide information about ASCEND for participants and their carers, and for people with diabetes who may be interested in taking part in this study.
