Georgina Buck gained a joint honours degree in Mathematics and Psychology at Nottingham University (1991-1994) and a Masters in Statistics with Applications in Medicine at Southampton University (1994-1995) before joining the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU) at Oxford Population Health in 1995.
She worked on the Medical Research Council leukaemia trials until their transfer in 2013-2016 and started working on the ASCEND (A Study of Cardiovascular Events iN Diabetes) trial in 2014. She is currently the only statistician who works solely on ASCEND.
