Sajda Perveen

Clinical Trial Monitor

Sajda is a graduate in nursing from the University of Leeds with extensive cardiology experience. Her career spans nearly two decades, during which she has worked in various healthcare settings and accumulated expertise in senior roles within her specialty. 

Sajda has undergone specialised training to instruct on advanced and intermediate life support courses with the Resuscitation Council UK and is a qualified Independent and supplementary non-medical prescriber. 

Sajda joined the Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU) in October 2023 as a Clinical Trial Monitor; ensuring that all aspects of several global clinical trials are conducted in adherence to protocols, regulatory and ethical guidelines. 

Sajda provides monitoring support to hospital staff, the CTSU monitoring team and the extensive CTSU team. Her role involves conducting initiation, interim and close out monitoring visits, providing on-site training and mentorship to study nurses. She is also responsible for closely liaising with the CTSU team and responding to  queries and reports in a professional and timely manner. 

In addition to her CTSU post, Sajda is the lead coordinating nurse at a local site for the ORION-4 study which is investigating the effect of the LDL cholesterol-lowering drug, inclisiran, on major cardiovascular events in over 16,000 participants with cardiovascular disease.
