We welcome requests from researchers to access data from MCPS. In an effort to increase research equity MCPS releases data to researchers in Mexico two years before releasing it worldwide.

data currently available

  • Baseline data, linked cause-specific mortality data, and the 10,000 participant resurvey data are available to all.
  • NMR biomarker data: the first release (a subset of 40,000 participants) are available to researchers in any part of the world. The second release (152,000 participants at baseline and 10,000 participants at resurvey) are available to researchers based in Mexico.
  • Genetic data are available to researchers in Mexico through the DNAnexus platform powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). This includes WGS for nearly 10,000 participants, and WES and genotyping for 140,000 participants.

See our Data Showcase or our Variant Browser for further information about the available variables.

future data releases

  • Genetic data will be available to all researchers in 2025.
  • Release two of the NMR biomarker data will be released to all researchers in 2026.

HOw to apply for access to data

Our Data and Sample Sharing Policy explains how to obtain MCPS data for research purposes and how to collaborate with us on a specific research proposal. You may also find it helpful to look at projects that have already been approved.

To register your interest in accessing data from MCPS please complete this registration form (also available in Spanish) and we will be in touch.
