Symposia and workshops
To showcase the scientific opportunities offered by the Mexico City Prospective Study (MCPS) and encourage its use by researchers in Mexico, MCPS has organised an annual symposium and scientific workshops in Mexico City since 2024.
The 2026 MCPS Symposium and Workshops will take place from 7–9 October 2026 in Mexico City. More information is available below.
Symposium
This year's MCPS Symposium will take place on 9 October at the Instituto Nacional de Medicina Genómica (INMEGEN).
As in previous years, the symposium will feature scientific presentations from researchers in Mexico and the UK who are using MCPS data in their research. The programme will also include a poster session and a presentation on how to access MCPS data.
We are currently developing the full agenda. However, we are pleased to confirm two keynote speakers from the University of Oxford:
-
Professor Prabhat Jha, Head of Department (NDPH) and Nuffield Professor of Population Health
-
Dr Jason Torres, Genetic Epidemiology Lead, Mexico City Prospective Study
Registration is not yet open. If you are interested in attending the symposium, submitting an abstract for the poster session, or both, please complete this form and we will notify you as soon as registration opens.

This year's scientific workshops will take place on 7–8 October at the Unidad de Medicina Experimental (UIME), Hospital General de México, UNAM.
The following workshops will be offered:
-
A Gentle Introduction to DNAnexus for Research in MCPS (7 October, full‑day workshop)
