Study opportunities
Our programmes support new and early career researchers through a variety of opportunities.
Doctoral and specialty programs at UNAM Mexico City
The Unidad de Investigación en Medicina Experimental at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) invites prospective students interested in conducting research with MCPS data to apply to the Doctoral and Specialty programmes offered through UNAM’s Faculty of Medicine. These programmes provide an excellent opportunity to develop high-quality research projects using MCPS resources within a supportive and academically rigorous environment.
For more information about the programmes, requirements, and admissions process, please visit our website or contact us directly at +52 55 5623 2600 Ext. 39911.
Don’t miss the opportunity to join a leading institution in medical education and research. The Research and Experimental Medicine Unit at UNAM looks forward to welcoming you!
SHORT TRAINING COURSES
Oxford Population Health runs short courses designed to develop skills in epidemiology, statistics and programming which can be taken individually or as a series. MCPS may be able to provide limited financial support for these courses. Contact us at mcps@ndph.ox.ac.uk to find out about funding.
RESEARCH PLACEMENTS
The MCPS Visiting Student Research Placement Programme offers talented students the opportunity to undertake a discrete, well-defined research project using MCPS data, while developing advanced research skills in a collaborative academic environment. The programme is designed primarily for graduate students in epidemiology, statistics, population health, or related fields, as well as exceptional final-year medical students.
All placements are based in Oxford within the MCPS research programme and include direct supervision from an MCPS researcher. The duration of each placement is determined by the project’s scope and available funding, and will not normally exceed six months.
MCPS provides limited financial support for applicants who ordinarily reside in Mexico and intend to return there upon completion of their placement. Candidates are encouraged to seek external funding to support their stay, although having secured funding is not a prerequisite for expressing interest in the programme.
The next application round will open in early 2027. Prospective applicants are warmly invited to contact us for further information about upcoming research placements.
