Tianshu Liu
DPhil Student
Tianshu is a DPhil student jointly funded by Clarendon Scholarship and Oxford Population Health and is supervised by Jonathan Emberson, Louisa Gnatiuc and Jason Torres.
Her research specifically looks at links between large genetic datasets and vascular-metabolic mortality using data from Mexico City Prospective Study (MCPS).
Prior to that, Tianshu worked for around a year at Oxford Clinical Trials Unit (OCTRU) as a medical statistician, providing statistical support to the design, setup, conduct and analysis of clinical trials.
She completed her master's degree in Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning at Imperial College London in 2021. This degree focused on using machine learning and other applied statistical tools to evaluate and predict health science issues. For Tianshu's final project she identified biomarkers for COVID-19 severity.
She also has a first-class degree and Dean's List award from University College London, studying economics and statistics.
