Julie joined the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU) in the Nuffield Department of Population Health in October 2019. Her DPhil research involves analysing the associations of self-reported and accelerometer-measured physical activity, sedentary leisure time and sleep, with ischaemic stroke subtypes and cardiometabolic markers in the China Kadoorie Biobank. Her supervisors are Dr. Derrick Bennett, Dr. Christiana Kartsonaki and Dr. Huaidong Du. 

Prior to joining the CTSU, Julie graduated with an MA Hons in Social Anthropology and Psychology from the University of St Andrews in 2016 and an MSc in Global Health from the Karolinska Institutet in 2017.
