Matthew Percival

PhD

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Officer

Matthew joined Oxford Population Health in April 2025 as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Officer within the Wolfson Laboratory. In this role, Matthew manages the NMR metabolomics facility to provide sample analysis and method development for various projects.

Previously, Matthew studied at King’s College London before obtaining his PhD in biophysical chemistry from Georg August University of Göttingen, a small university city in the centre of Germany. In his PhD, Matthew used an extensive range of solution state NMR methods to determine how alpha-synuclein’s phase separation is connected to its pathological aggregation, a hallmark of Parkinson’s disease.
