Andrew Browne

Andrew is a lecturer in statistics and epidemiology. After completing his PhD at the University of Cambridge, he previously worked as a statistics support lecturer at De Montfort University and a teaching associate in statistics at the University of Strathclyde, where he obtained HEA Fellowship. 

As a member of the teaching team, Andrew is involved with lectures, tutorials, and assessments in statistics on the MSc in Global Health Science and Epidemiology, and also teaches on the department’s short courses in statistics, and the summer lecture series, as well as providing supervision for placement projects. 

Andrew’s PhD research was focused on analysis of data from the INTERVAL trial on blood donation frequency in the UK, and he performed a systematic review of low haemoglobin deferral of blood donors. Currently, his research maintains a clinical application, and he works with collaborators in Cambridge, Glasgow, and London on systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and clinical decision models.
