Michelle Goonasekera is a Clinical Research Fellow at the Clinical Trials Service Unit (CTSU) working on large randomised trials in cardiovascular disease, kidney disease and diabetes.
She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2008 followed by a medical internship (FY1 equivalent) at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka in Colombo.
Michelle completed the rest of her foundation training at St. George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation trust in London and core medical training at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. After obtaining her MRCP she took up specialty training in nephrology and general internal medicine in Thames Valley in 2015.
