Jane Wintour

Laboratory Manager of the NDPH Wolfson Laboratories

Jane Wintour joined the CTSU in 1999 and is the Laboratory Manager of the NDPH Wolfson Laboratories. She is has a background in clinical chemistry and is a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Biomedical Scientist.

Jane is a member of the laboratory management team and manages the day to day routine running of the main laboratory. Jane supports 18 laboratory staff and oversees method validation, assay performance monitoring and staff training. She works closely with the Quality Manager to fulfil ISO accreditation requirements and the Research Fellow to support research and development.

Jane has provided considerable support to collaborating groups in the UK and Internationally, including method validation and assay performance monitoring for the UK Biobank biomarker project investigating 36 classical risk biomarkers in all 0.5 million UK Biobank participants and establishing a satellite laboratory at Fuwai Hospital Beijing to measure HbA1c.

Previous history: Jane spent eighteen years working in the NHS (Nuffield Department of Clinical Biochemistry, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford) before joining the CTSU.
