Mortality from smoking in developed countries 1950-2010

About the study

The aim, where possible, was to get the mortality data at 5-yearly intervals from 1950 to at least 2005 (and many countries now have data available for 2009). This was mainly provided by the World Health Organization, from the official data provided to WHO by its member states. The population data for single years from 1950 to 2009 comprised the 2010 Revision of the United Nations World Population Prospects.
