HPS2-THRIVE
The THRIVE study is an international clinical trial run by the University of Oxford's Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU). It aims to find out if raising good HDL cholesterol (using a drug called ER niacin/laropiprant) will help to prevent heart attacks and stroke.
- THRIVE will involve a total of 25,000 men and women
- 8,500 participants will be from the UK
- 10,500 participants will be from China
- 6,000 participants will be from Scandinavia
- Over 240 hospitals and clinics are currently involved in the study
