Welcome to the THRIVE Study

The THRIVE study (also known as HPS2-THRIVE) is an international clinical trial run by the University of Oxford's Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU). We want to find out if raising good HDL cholesterol (using a drug called ER niacin/laropiprant) will help to prevent heart attacks and stroke.

Who is taking part in THRIVE?

As of December 2009 we have recruited over 23,000 people into the THRIVE study. Over 6,000 of these are from the UK.
